Scouse bird musts...

Hello there lovelies!

So tonight I've be having a bit of me time in preparation for this weekend, one of my beautiful best pals is throwing a little shin dig and as I'm going to fake tan myself into oblivion tomorrow night I'd thought I'd prepare body for battle tonight.
After a few hours of moisturising, exfoliating, shaving, cleansing, plucking, de-spotting and general primping, I realised how fabulous the products I've been using lately have been. So being the ever so giving person that I am, I thought I would share them with you all....

Firstly this...
The Body Shops mango body butter  I absolutely adore this product. It's so moisturizing and leaves my skin feel like the wings of a baby angel (aka soft). I've had this one since mid February and just coming to end of the tub now, before that I had the Ginger one and it was equally as amazing. The whole range smells amazing and all act as an essential step in any fake tan junkie's routine. They cost £12.50 for 200ml which I think's pretty reasonable considering how bloody brilliant it is.

Secondly...

Lush Toothy Tabs in Sparkle are possibly the coolest things I've ever found when it comes to teeth cleaning things. They're like little tablets, that foam when in your mouth and act as a mixture of a tooth paste and teeth whitener. They're completely natural and eco-friendly which is a plus, but most importantly they really do work. I use these in the days leading up to a party and can always tell the difference in my teeth on pictures and such. They're £2.50 for 40 tablets and pretty damn awesome.

Thirdly...
These three little bad boys are my go to products to get my face looking presentable so I don't scare other party goers. I start with the St Ives apricot scrub to de-flake all the grossness that my have stuck itself onto my poor little face and to give me a nice base for applying necessary fake tanning products. Then I hack away at my brows using the Tweezerman slant tweezers  which are by far the sharpest and most accurate tool I have ever used to rip things from my face. They're pretty pricey costing around £20 but they last forever and Tweezerman even offer a free re-sharpening service if your tweezers aren't as knife-like as they should be. And finally after all other skincare steps, I wipe around my face with one of these Clearasil rapid action pads to make sure no spots rear the unwanted heads  before said parties. They're a complete life saviour. I can always see the results in my skin and constantly go back to these when I can feel a spot coming on.

And most importantly...

As a loyal scouser, the idea of leaving my house without a tan that could only come from a bottle, petrifies me to my very core. The last time someone saw my natural skin colour was when I accidentally over plucked my eyebrows and some pesky under-eyebrow skin appeared, which was practically translucent. St Moriz, to anyone who doesn't know is possibly one of the best things to come out of Liverpool since the Beatles. Now I know it wasn't invented in Liverpool, but after being championed by Scouse birds everywhere, we have practically kept good ole' St Moriz in business. It is the fake tan of all fake tans. Forget your St Tropez's or Fake Bake, oh no St Moriz wins this blorange battle hands down. You can only purchase this bad boy in Home and Bargain, how prestigious, meaning if you ever do come across it, you should most definitely stock up. Especially if you live in Liverpool like myself. There's nothing worse than having to trek into town on a Saturday afternoon and beating off some bird in rollers for the last bottle of 'dark' on the shelf...scary stuff.
Ambre Solaire dry face mist is also rather brilliant for your face, and you can't beat Primark's fake tan mitt, critical if you want to avoid looking like you've brutally strangled an Oompa Lumpa with your bare hands.

So that's it my lovelies, my holy grail products for preparing one's self for a truly sick weekend.

Speak soon kittens!

Things that irk me...

Okay so today I've been stuck in bed with a sore throat the flu and because of this I've been able to bask in anything and everything that has been annoying me lately. And I've ever so kindly decided to let you all in on those bastardly things too...

  • firstly the fact that everything is so bloody expensive at the moment! I don't know if it's because I'm feeling a little bit poor what with the fact that I'm 16 and don't have a job, but all of a sudden everything seems to have quadrupled in price! I can get by with having to shop around a bit for clothes of an acceptable price and having to save up a bit before I make any real purchases, I get it times are tough but I was really thrown over the edge the other day when I put down my £1 coin on the bus driver's little tray thing and he ever so kindly pointed out bus fare has gone up to £1.30...ARE YOU SHITTING ME?! Who came up with that number? I begrudged paying £1 in the first place and now I'm going to have dig round the wilderness, that is the bottom of my bag every time I get on the bus to find another 30p. Bastards.
  • Another thing that's really gotten my goat lately is the weather. Now I know, being British and all, that our weather isn't usually something to shout about, but lately it's been working overtime just to piss me off. We got about 3 weeks of amazing weather in March but because of that ridiculous thing that some call education (which I happen to be in full time) I could only ever enjoy it on the weekends. Panic not I thought, the Easter holidays are a few weeks away I'm sure it will last. So imagine my surprise when the holidays rolled around and BAM the sun clearly had to go into some sort of witness protection programme because she hasn't bothered showering her face since. Bugger.
  • American TV schedules have also been ticking me right off lately and whatever mastermind thinks them up should be head-butted by this guy...
  • I say this because being the internet savvy, bright young thing that I am, I tend to watch most television online these days. Especially things like Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill etc but for some reason over the last few months whenever I sit down with my Macbook and think "ah lovely, after my exceedingly hectic day I will now relax in front of the beauty that is Ed Westwick and other American hotties as I watch Gossip Girl *types in website, scrolls down, clicks Gossip Girl tab, goes to click on newest episode, throws laptop across room in rage* ASHHFDSGDGGDFGDFGDF WTF?!" or something like that. For some ridiculous reason American TV people think it's acceptable to just throw in random hiatus' for their shows whenever the God Damn feel like it, and I'd like to tell you kind sirs, that it's not acceptable! I have been waiting to see what happens on Desperate Housewives now for weeks and I am not a happy bunny!
Okay rant over...for now.
Hope you're all well and please do feel free to tell me what positively irks you, we can all share in the irksomeness of life together!

Bye beauty's!

Superdrug, how I love thee

Hey there, remember me?

Well to be honest I wouldn't blame you if you didn't as I have been completely M.I.A from blog land of late. I don't really have an excuse, other than my fabulously extravagant lifestyle...yeah that.
So what I'm trying to say is sorry! I shall be more loving to you gorgeous people from now on.

All that out of the way, let's get down to business. Today I have rediscovered my love for Superdrug. For all you none UKers out there Superdrug is basically just a huge drugstore chain shop, selling high street make-up, skin care, hair products and so on.
I had a few points built up on my loyalty card and thought I'd take advantage of the situation, so off I trotted into town after school to have a little look round. And look I did.
I was in there for over an hour and must've done about 5 laps of the store but there's just so much stuff, I thought it was necessary.
Usually I'm not really one for 'highstreet' make-up because I just love brands like MAC, Chanel and Benefit so much. Also because high end brands are so much more expensive, I tend to have to save up a few bob before I can get my next fix new make-up item. But today I was so pleseantly surprised, I went a little insane. I left with a mixture of make-up, tanning products, beauty tools and...food (Giant box of Guylian chocolate for £2.99? I think so). So with my new purchases in tow I trotted off back to my humble abode to rest my little tootsies and frantically unpackage and play with EVERYTHING I bought try out my new stuff.

(From top: Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll On, Garnier Summer Body self tanning lotion, Garneir BB Cream- Second Row: Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, QVS Eyelash Curler, Sleek Eau La La Liner in Moulin Rouge, Ardell lashes in 117 Black, Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara, Rimmel 1000 kisses lip tint in Timeless Tango, Garnier Ambre Solaire dry face mist.)

YAY for new stuff! So as you can see I bought a fair few items and thus far I have been extremely pleased with them. The Garnier Summer Body and the BB cream are repurchases as I do rather love them already and can confidently say they are both amazing, with a lovely smell. Also I used the face mist last night and I think it's the best facial fake-tanner I have ever used. It takes all of 10 seconds to apply, dries pretty much instantly and smells like holidays (providing you don't inhale mid spray like I did like an idiot...). The Rimmel products were on offer, so I received the mascara free for spending over £10 which was bargainous.
The Sleek liner is also really lovely, creamy and highly pigmented. It can be used on the face, eyes and lips which is pretty cool too. The colour range for the line is really good and I'm going to go and pick up a few more the next chance I get as they're only £3.99!

So yeah, thank you very much Superdrug for being so very lovely, cheap and full of stuff. You have well and truly opened my eyes.

If you would like to see any reviews on products, let me know and I shall happily oblige.

Much love beautys, thanks for reading.
And as ever...
